Funkbetrieb auf KW / DX-Expeditionen
Der Funkbetrieb auf Kurzwelle, in den jeweiligen Betriebsarten (SSB, CW, FT8 etc.), ist mit dem Erreichen möglichst vieler Länder in und außerhalb Europas verbunden. Beliebt ist der DX-Betrieb, bei dem Amateurfunkstationen über 3000 km oder außerhalb des eigenen Kontinents zu erreichen sind. Das ist je nach wechselnden Ausbreitungsbedingungen, verwendeter Frequenz und Betriebsart sowie der Transceiver, Leistung, Betriebstechnik sowie der Antennen einfach bis sehr schwierig zu erreichen. Besonders schwierig ist es seltene Länder oder Inseln in denen sehr wenige bzw. keine Funkamateure aktiv sind zu erreichen. Zu diesem Zweck werden DXpeditionen durch einzelne oder Gruppen von Funkamateuren durchgeführt.
